Postbuckling Analyses with Finite Strips
Publication: Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division
Volume 107, Issue 5
Abstract
The finite strip method of post-buckling analysis of prismatic plate structures subjected to axial compression is presented. The method is developed in two versions. The first one employs the classical approximations of junction conditions. The second ensures compatibility of displacements in the transverse plane at the junction. Examples are presented to illustrate the types of problems that each version can study most usefully.
