Abstract
In dimensional analysis, directions are ignored and vectorial entities are dealt with as if they were scalar. To put to use the available information that would otherwise be lost, a generalization of dimensional analysis is presented, which requires lengths measured in different directions to be regarded as independent fundamental quantities. The possibility of using such generalization for the direct choice of distortion and for the direct choice of anisotropy leading to the similarity of forces in scale models is presented.
