Abstract
The technique of linear flow graph analysis is used for solving sets of simultaneous linear equations of the tri-diagonal banded type. The general solution of the equations can be written directly in algebraic form using the standardized graph representation. Each variable is solved for separately without solving for the remaining variables. The general solution for n simultaneous equations is formulated and can be readily used for computer programming. Estimates of the calulation time are made and compared with existing methods of solution.
