Parametric Expansions for Oval Reinforcing Rings

Abstract
Based on an expression for the local curvature of an oval that simplifies shell analyses, formulas are derived for the stresses and displacements in deep oval reinforcing rings. The results are presented as power series expansions in a parameter which fixes the major-to-minor axis ratio of the oval.
