Sediment Pollution Control in North Carolina

Abstract
A review of state and local sediment control programs in North Carolina relative to urban and highway construction and sanitary landfill operations is presented. Law and institutional arrangements, operations and management, technology, economics, enforcement, education, and public acceptance are included. Emphasis is placed on erosion and sediment control as a part of project planning and design. Conclusions and recommendations for strengthened program are given.
