Computer Design of Landfill Methane Migration Control
Publication: Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division
Volume 108, Issue 1
Abstract
Computer programs for the design of methane migration control systems around sanitary landfills are described. These programs allow the effectiveness of individual designs to be evaluated and allow comparison of alternative designs. The effects of varying pumping rates on active systems can be assessed. In addition to describing the mathematical principles used in the computer programs, results for typical control installations are shown in a manner that allows for comparing their effectiveness.
