Cost of Small Water Supply Treatment Systems
Publication: Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division
Volume 107, Issue 5
Abstract
Many of the major problems associated with implementing the Safe Drinking Water Act are related to small water systems. These problems include, but are not limited to, inadequate facilities, inadequate operation and maintenance, inadequate water quality monitoring, and contaminant level violations. Many of these problems can be traced to a lack of appropriate technology for treating water sources. Various treatment techniques, including package plants, are explored, and their costs are evaluated.
