Abstract
An analytical and experimental investigation of the outflow from a drain field pipe is presented. The pipe has circular holes along the bottom. One end of the pipe is connected, to a septic tank. The influence of equalizing the flow in the septic tank is also investigated. The theory outlined makes it possible to design a drain field pipe in such a way that the outflow from the pipe will be evenly distributed along the pipe. Therefore, the introduction of pumps and siphons could be avoided.
