Abstract

For many years, researchers and engineers engaged in the investigation of stream reaeration have constantly followed the suggestion that the value of K2, the reaeration rate constant, increases as the temperature rises and vice versa (2). It is of importance to report that the writer, through his many years of observation in oxygenation processes, has found that K2 increases as temperature goes down. On the other hand, K2 decreases as temperature rises. This paper is a summary of the writer.s observations, proposing the following modification of the K2-temperature relation.
