Phosphorus Model of Muskegon Wastewater System
Publication: Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division
Volume 101, Issue 6
Abstract
A mathematical model is used to project the phosphorus concentration in soil solution for several durations of wastewater application at the Muskegon County land application wastewater treatment system. Results, under three different hydraulic conditions, are presented for the two principal soil types found on the project. The studies indicated that no problems in phosphorus removal should be encountered with application rate of 5 cm/week. However, management techniques may be required to achieve the design criteria for application rates of 10 cm/week.
