Design and Selection Considerations for Concrete Falsework
Publication: Journal of the Construction Division
Volume 107, Issue 3
Abstract
Modern cast-in-place concrete construction often requires the use of sophisticated falsework systems which carry significant and complex loadings. Since these falsework systems must satisfy the requirements of safety, serviceability, and economy, their design should be approached in a rational structural engineering manner. Such a design must take into consideration some of the special concerns of falsework performance and construction loading. Selection of materials, erection and inspection of the falsework and evaluation of system performance are critical follow-up steps to the design process, and should be part of every falsework installation.
