Abstract
Industrial engineering techniques are applied to a precast concrete erection project in an attempt to increase the erection efficiency. Preplanning, work improvement methods, time-lapse photography, and man-machine charting techniques are utilized. Numerous problems were encountered during the project, principally due to weather and fit-up difficulties. However, even with the unforeseen difficulties, erection costs were less than experienced on other projects. An analysis is made of the sources of erection delays and their effects on the erection efficiency.
