Developments in CPM, PERT, and Network Analysis
Publication: Journal of the Construction Division
Volume 101, Issue 4
Abstract
The historical background of the various network techniques and the extensions of the basic techniques into cost and resource areas are examined. The development of computer systems as they relate to the applications of network programs are traced, and some speculation into interactive systems and their future impact in the construction industry is included. The disparity between current state of development in network techniques and their applications in the construction industry is pointed out, and an explanation of this disparity is attempted. A flow chart of the logical steps in preparing and processing the networks in batch processing is included.
