Fifty Years of Construction Cost-Reducing Analyses

Publication: Journal of the Construction Division
Volume 101, Issue 2

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present and consider some, but not necessarily all, of the methods that have been developed during the past 50 yr, to enable engineers, architects, contractors, and other persons associated with the construction industry to preplan, plan, and analyze construction operations in order to reduce the costs of construction operations and to provide other beneficial services. The time alloted to this paper will preclude a lengthy consideration of each method. The Appendix gives sources of additional information that describe the methods more fully.
