Abstract
Analytical evaluation of transportation time on a building site may be very helpful in site planning and balancing of construction activities. Three methods of transportation are analyzed: (1) linear; employing trucks, carts, dumpers, etc., in which the transportation time is determined by the distance between destination and supply source; (2) with stationary crane; in which the time is determined by location of crane with respect to destination and supply source; and (3) with mobile crane; in which the time is determined by the crane operating procedure. Some techniques for finding of optimal crane location in the second case, and optimal operating procedure in the third are presented.
