Simulating Effects of Weather on Construction
Publication: Journal of the Construction Division
Volume 99, Issue 1
Abstract
Three simulation models used to evaluate the effect of weather on construction projects are described. Models differ in the ways decisions are made to work or not to work, in the ways the correctness of decisions are determined, and in the ways the correctness of decisions are determined and used. A project is constructed in various streams of real weather using each model. A variety of statistical tests are used to compare the results obtained and to ascertain if the results are improved significantly as more refined techniques of modeling and more sophisticated input data are used.
