Approach and Runway Lighting for Jet-Age Aircraft
Author: Howard J. FryAuthor Affiliations

Abstract
The topic of approach and runway lighting should not be restricted to merely jet aircraft, because such lighting is important to the conventional aircraft, as well as for the jet. The actual need for efficient visual aids to assist the pilot in landing in reduced visibility conditions, or during the hours of darkness, has been present since flying was in its infancy. The problem has become a little more complex and the requirement more urgent with highperformance aircraft.
