Abstract
The salaries of engineers are compared with the salaries of medical doctors. The difference between the salaries of these two professional groups is explained in terms of supply and demand. Numbers of enrolled freshman and graduates of medical school and engineers are given. The engineering schools have no control over production of graduates. On the other hand, the American Medical Association controls the supply of medical doctors. The present societies, although doing excellent work in technical areas, have done little towards improving the economic conditions of engineers. College administrators should form an organization to work for the economic welfare of engineers.
