Abstract
The Professional Activities Committee (PAC) can be characterized as the conscience of ASCE — it has implied in its charge the responsibility to remind: (1) Civil engineers of their responsibility to their clients and for public welfare and safety; (2) the public of its responsiibility to the profession; and (3) employers of their responsibilities to employees and of employees to their employers.
