Abstract

This paper presents results of investigations on the formation of gel by interaction of resorcinol and formaldehyde in aqueous media in the presence of acid. The aim was to find a suitable injection mix which remains in liquid form for a required time to enable its injection into the sand, and which possesses sufficient gel strength to resist any foundation stresses and washout forces after grouting. The paper also examines the interaction and bonding mechanism of grout in an injected mass.
