Abstract
Electro-osmosis (E-O) is an effective method for stabilizing fine grained soils; the process has been used for man years for stabilizing cut slopes and embankments, and for dewatering foundations. Electo-osmotic slope stabilization is accomplished by reversing the direction of water flow away from the face of a slope. This directional change is achieved by placing anodes on the face of a slope and well pint cathodes at a distance of 10 ft-15 ft from the slope. A direct current is induced between electodes.
