Stresses and Displacements in Anisotropic Embankments
Publication: Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division
Volume 104, Issue 3
Abstract
This note is concerned with gravitational stresses and displacements in earth embankments comprising a specific type of anisotropic material: one exhibiting cross anisotropy. In contrast to purely isotropic materials, which are described through two independent elastic constants, cross anisotropic materials comprise five such constants.
