Abstract
Most of the findings of studies on the pull-out capacities of horizontally loaded anchor slabs in sand reported in the literature have been confined to shallow depths. It is however common knowledge that most anchors, especially those used for supporting diaphragm walls, are situated deep in the soil. An investigation has been carried out on the pull-out capacities of both shallow and deep vertical plate anchors.
