Abstract
Pile foundations of machines and structures are often exposed to dynamic forces that have vertical and horizontal components and also produce torque around the vertical axis. While the resulting response in the vertical and horizontal directions has been receiving considerable attention, the study of the torsional response has been largely neglected and limited to the static case.
