Pullout Resistance of Vertical Anchors
Publication: Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division
Volume 101, Issue 1
Abstract
Interest has been shown by investigators in the study of passive resistance of vertical anchors subjected to horizontal pull in cohesion less soils. The present general practice of determining the ultimate resistance of shallow anchors by use of Coulomb's passive pressure theory seems uneconomical. In this study, the pullout resistances of shallow vertical square and circular anchors have been investigated.
