Call for Papers: Special Issue on Adoption of the ASCE Body of Knowledge 2nd Edition

The Journal of Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice is soliciting papers for both the peer-reviewed technical paper section and a practice-oriented forum section (forum pieces are reviewed only by the editor). Paper topics may cover a wide range of issues, with a focus on educational application and research. Some example topics based on the Body of Knowledge 2nd Edition (BOK2) include:
•
Addressing Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) program accreditation and its relationship with the BOK2,
•
Challenges of redefining and implementing program outcomes and creating meaningful assessment based on Bloom’s taxonomy,
•
Implementation of curriculum changes,
•
Links between BOK2 and continuous improvement,
•
Stimulating faculty buy-in to continuous improvement plans,
•
Suggested changes to the Levels of Cognitive Achievement and clarifications to the Explanation of Outcomes,
•
Procedures for adapting BOK2 to a master’s program, and
•
The role of industry and the profession on a broader implementation of the BOK2.
