I would like to announce the Best Paper Award winner from the October 2006 and four 2007 issues of the Journal of Professional and Issues in Engineering Education & Practice. The Best Paper Award goes to: Amarjit Singh, University of Hawaii, Manoa, for his paper, “Civil Engineering: Anachronism and Black Sheep,” in Volume 133, Issue 1, January 2007. Also receiving votes were “Raising the Bar for Civil Engineering Education: Systems Thinking Approach,” by M. Nehdi and R. Rehan of the University of Western Ontario, published in Volume 133, Issue 2, April 2007; “Evaluation of Differing Subsurface Ground Conditions in Construction Contracts,” by Alexandros C. Kallantzis of the National Technical University of Athens and John D. Borcherding and James T. O’Connor of the University of Texas, published in Volume 133, Issue 1, January 2007; and “Certification and Accreditation in Civil Engineering” by William E. Kelly of the Catholic University of America, published in Volume 133, Issue 3, July 2007.
