Breaking Condition of Shoaling Waves on Opposing Current

Publication: Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering
Volume 116, Issue 2

Abstract

Small-scale tests were performed to examine the effect of opposing current on the breaking condition of regular waves shoaling on a uniform slope. A simple empirical formula is proposed for predicting the breaking condition of shoaling waves on opposing current.
