Chance Constrained Optimal Design of Trapezoidal Channels

Publication: Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management
Volume 134, Issue 3

Abstract

The development of a mathematical model for chance constrained optimal design of trapezoidal channels is presented. The developed model maximizes the probability of channel capacity being greater than the design flow, and minimizes the probable cost of the channel. The developed model is demonstrated for optimal design of channels having composite and uniform roughness.
