Nonconstrained Flagpole Design Formula

Abstract

A formula for the design of the nonconstrained flagpole is presented. This formula provides a direct solution that is close to the result of the Uniform Building Code (UBC). The formula is simple and can be used as an alternative or as a complement to check results using the UBC’s formula.
