Residual Stresses in Beams with Yielding During Unloading

Abstract
The paper deals with residual stresses in beams loaded into the plastic range and where during unloading additional yielding (σY) occurs. Three examples are analysed: 1) Oridinary T-beams, 2) Rectangular beam made of a material with σ¯Y = 2σ+Y, 3) Rectangular beam built up of two materials having different yield stresses.
