Structural Wood Research Needs

Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 112, Issue 9

Abstract

This paper summarizes the research needs identified at the 1983 workshop on structural wood. Eight sessions dealing with structural material (lumber), connections, subassemblies, heavy timber structures and bridges, structural material (panels), reliability‐based design, trusses and manufactured structural components, and light‐frame buildings were held and research needs identified. Participants included researchers and engineers from various industrial, governmental and educational institutions.
