Orthotropic Plates under Varying Compression

Publication: Journal of Structural Engineering
Volume 109, Issue 1

Abstract

An equation for predicting the elastic buckling stress of orthotropic plates is presented. The plate analyzed is simply supported along both transverse edges and elastically restrained along both longitudinal sides. Also, the plate is subjected to compressive stress that varies linearly in the direction of loadings and shear stress.
