Calculation of Distribution and Efficiency for Nonuniform Irrigation

Publication: Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
Volume 115, Issue 4

Abstract

Nonuniform irrigation is considered along with an analysis of distribution, efficiency, and deep percolation. Analytical expressions are given for normal, lognormal, uniform, and “specialized power” distributions. Numerical values of area fully irrigated, application efficiency, and deep percolation are tabulated for all distributions as a function of water applied and variability. Field distributions were successfully compared with theoretical results for two furrow and two sprinkler examples.
