Generalization of SCS Curve Number Method

Abstract

Because of problems that arise in the use of the SCS curve number method of runoff estimation, the generalization thereof is suggested by returning to the original SCS model. For runoff volume estimations two alternative graphs as general solutions to the SCS model are presented, without converting the storage factor S into curve number, and without taking the initial abstraction /Ia/ as a fixed portion of S.
