Errors in Hydraulic Approach to Flows in Semi‐Confined Aquifers

Publication: Journal of Hydraulic Engineering
Volume 112, Issue 10

Abstract

Exact estimates of the errors involved in the nearly horizontal flow approximation are obtained for a class of semi‐confined aquifers. The results provide a quantitative rather than qualitative error analysis, which, previously has often been used. Ensuing exact solutions to groundwater flows in some model leaky aquifers may also provide an excellent means of checking the accuracy of certain computer codes.
