Construction/Retrofit of BWR Mark III Structures

Publication: Journal of Energy Engineering
Volume 110, Issue 2

Abstract

Examples of design and construction of structural retrofits in a BWR Mark III Nuclear Power Station are presented. Retrofits enable the structures to withstand increased loads due to Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA) and Safety Relief Valve (SRV) discharge events. Simplified construction of shield building dome and rebar anchors using non‐shrink grout are also described.
