Abstract
A solution for the problem of inelastic buckling of nonprismatic columns is presented which extends the well-known approaches for inelastic buckling of prismatic columns and elastic buckling of nonprismatic columns. The analytical results are compared with experiments conducted by the writers and it is concluded that the solutions presented are valid for the column configuration tested, and may have more general applicability.
