Spillway and Metal Toxicity Influenced Stream Reaeration
Publication: Journal of Environmental Engineering
Volume 134, Issue 9
Abstract
In this study, effects of initial dissolved oxygen (DO) deficit values on the formation of DO deficit curves under the influence of inorganic metal compounds ( , ) are investigated. DO deficit curves and critical DO deficit values are significantly effected. Smooth and stepped spillways cause increased DO concentrations at the downstream part of the channel. DO concentrations change depending on the flow types, discharge rates, traveling times and channel slope.
