Editor’s Note

The JEE June issue contains the editorial “Toxic and Contaminant Concerns Generated by Hurricane Katrina” written by Danny D. Reible (Bettie Margaret Smith Chair of Environmental Health Engineering in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin), Charles N. Haas (L. D. Betz Professor of Environmental Engineering and Head of the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia), John H. Pardue (Elizabeth Howell Stewart Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Louisiana Water Resources Research Institute at Louisiana State University), and William J. Walsh (Pepper Hamilton, LLP, Washington, D.C.). Other technical papers cover topics including water and wastewater treatment, fuel economy for vehicles, waste reuse, water quality, landfills, water recycling, and groundwater remediation. Authors of these papers are from the United States, China, Israel, Canada, and The Netherlands.
