New Directions and Techniques in Highway Location Planning

Abstract
A review of the state-of-the-art of highway location planning with a case history of an application of some of the newest techniques and the results of their use. The use of public desire as quantified input factor is examined. A case is extended urging that location studies be preceded by warrant studies which determine if a proposed facility is an optimal solution from the standpoint of improving the quality of life.
