Abstract

An analysis is made of an access questionnaire distributed to operators of major United States airports. According to the airport operators, desirable improvements in airport access between airports and central business districts would be almost evenly divided between highway improvements and rapid transit systems. Some stated that a combination of the two would be most desirable. Innovations for airport access include railbuses, Sky Lounge projects, air-cushion vehicles, and other measures. The report serves as an order of magnitude information digest which can provide the basis for further data collection and analysis in the future.
