Mean Residence Time of Liquid in Trickling Filter

Abstract
Pilot plant research studies aimed at broadening the basic knowledge relative to the performance of trickling filters were initiated. Here in are presented the results of initial hydraulic studies in which the mean residence time was determined for tap water applied to columns packed with spherical media under conditions of varying hydraulic loading rates, media size and depth.
