Abstract

Many methods of transit-lining high-speed track are unsatisfactory because of the lack of a simplified, standard procedure. A simplified method of transit-lining high-speed track is presented herein; this method was developed following an investigation of surveying geometry and has been made possible by improved computational devices. The suggested procedure is such that tangent track can be established from a graph of the existing conditions, curve data can be computed in the office, and the throw of the track can be limited but still selected with a definite, corrective relationship to a proposed center line.
