Abstract
Charts are presented that show the slope-deflection flexural coefficients, under axial compression or axial tension conditions, for members consisting of a uniform middle part and infinitely rigid end regions of equal or unequal lengths up to 25% of the total length of the member. Assuming that the actual gussets at the ends of a member may be replaced by shorter gussets of infinite rigidity, the charts may be used in the analysis of secondary stresses in gusset-connected trusses arid in the stability analysis of such trusses by either the moment distribution method or the slope-deflection method. Because the fundamental theories of secondary stresses and of stability analysis have been discussed elsewhere (see subsequent footnotes), these theories are not covered in this paper.
