Publication: Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers
Volume 116, Issue 1

Abstract

The history and current status of the Civil Engineering profession has been reported by Presidents of the Society in annual addresses for many years. These messages have been published in the annual Transactions and are recommended for rereading by all members and prospective members who are interested in a better understanding and appreciation of the American Society of Civil Engineers, its objectives, and attainments. The deficiencies to be overcome are also highlighted in these addresses to the end that future efforts may be focused · upon their elimination.
