Abstract
The subject of automobile taxation has a vital bearing on the highway situation in the State of New York. The speaker believes it is estimated that in 1922 the total revenue from auto mobile taxation in this State will be more than $10 000 000, which would average about $12 per vehicle. The law provides that a motor vehicle in the State of New York may not be taxed as personal property, which means that the value of the automobile is not taken into consideration as personal property and taxed as such.
