Abstract
During the last two or three years attention has been called to several cases where concrete failed to harden, and these failures could not be attributed to the quality of the cement. Some of these cases have been investigated thoroughly, one in particular to a point where quite definite conclusions were reached, and this will serve as an illustration of at least one of the causes of poor concrete.
