In Memoriam: Junwon Seo

It is with a heavy heart that we would like to share sad news with you. One of our engineering editors for Natural Hazards Review, Dr. Junwon Seo, died unexpectedly a few weeks ago. He suffered a heart attack, which led to brain damage.

Having earned tenure in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University, he recently accepted a position in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, which sadly ended abruptly after only twenty days. He is leaving behind a young family. Junwon was a devoted husband and father, intelligent and always had a good sense of humor. He was dedicated to his research and teaching and maintained a very optimistic view of life. We in the NHR family will truly miss him.
