Abstract
The authors have presented an interesting case involving the application of a linear programming technique for obtaining an optimal solution to a large-scale engineering problem. The writers had an opportunity to investigate a similar problem, i.e., optimization of the pump-well configuration for massive depressurization of a confined aquifer. The purpose of this discussion is to give the details of this experience.
